experience with expired C41 chemicals ?

I found a box each of C 41 and E6 chemicals in my basement that I had ‘lost’ they’re now about 2 yrs old and unopened. Has anyone ever used expired chems and if so how old? Thanks

With C41 the developer is the first to go off and with E6 the color developer. Check the color of the concentrates against known good concentrates. Should be colorless or the color of weak tea; any darker is usually bad news. Bleach, fix and reversal concentrates generally last several years.

I recently used some Kodak C-41 chems that were 4 or 5 years old with good results. Chemicals were clear, but after I finished the one bottle (of the part that's in two big bottles) I noticed some crystals had formed. Didn't seem to cause a problem, but I'm hesitant to keep using them since I think they must have been on the edge. So check the color and see if crystals are forming.
