    Komura/Komuranon 500mm f7

I am in the market for a 500-600mm tele for 4x5. I’m considering the Komura/Komuranon 500mm f7 lens. It’s faster than most other makes in this lens type and should be easier to compose and focus. Big and heavy though. I have seen 3 different versions of this lens meaning they actually appear to be constructed differently. All in a Copal #3. Some have aperture scales for 300,400 and 500mm lenses and some don’t. Are some of the versions convertible? Some are labeled Komura and some Komuranon. Any body out there familiar with this particular Komura lens and if any of the versions are better or worse than others? I have a 90mm f5.6 Komuranon I’ve owned since about 1984 that is a fine performer.

    Thanks,

I think there's just one, in three different mounts for 4x5, Bronica S/EC and 35 mm. See allphotolenses.com/public/files/pdfs/9c85de281eee10b265e9aa77511316ab.pdf

    Dan,
Thanks for the reply. I was referring only to the 4x5 mount 500mm f7. I have seen three physically different looking 500 mm f7 lenses in the 4x5/Copal #3. Some start with a 3xxxxxx serial# and some start with a 4xxxxxx serial#. Trying to determine what the difference is between them.

    Thanks again,

I don't think they are convertible in the manner of an early Symmar where you remove one element, rather they have interchangeable elements like a Nikkor T 360/500/720
