Here is an 8x10 ASA 25 plate processed in DK-50 for 4 minutes. Shot with 12” Commercial Ektar on Kodak 2D

I was a bit stressed getting these out there but I’m glad to start hearing positive feedback about them.

My goal was that the faster plates and the slower plates both stand on their own merits and compliment each other, and not replacing the slower plates with the faster.

Yes, keep them both, 2 and 25 ASA. Depending on the kind of camera (specially wood & brass cameras that maybe have no shutter) is better suited one type or the other. For example, for running water the extreme slow speeds of the 2 ASA are wonderful.

Another 25 ASA plate, in 3A format. Taken with a c.1906 Kodak No.3A Folding Pocket, hand held:

PS: by the way, does this link work? I'm a bit confused by the forum image upload mechanics....

    2 J Lane ASA 25 1/6 plates shot in Mamiya RB67 SD

Studio Test with PC Buff Einsteins VS 6 year old Led panels. 2 each from about the same position. Camera and focus did not move. f11 aperture for both, f16 meter for 1 stop of bellows.

V700 scanned flat on glass with emulsion UP to gain a little height and avoid emulsion scratching.

Each processed differently in PS. Original scan was both at once. No spotting anywhere, no sharpening. Focus error is mine.

I never before loaded Mamiya DDS holders with glass plates, made the scars learning by feel. Next week, Darkroom enlargement of the better one both with and without negative spotting.

Your pics make me want to get out and shoot some plates. Gonna have to make that happen this weekend.

    Cheers,

About the 25 ASA dry plates... could you push them to 50 ASA? As somebody tried it? And what should be the developing times & details?

    Thanks

Two speed plates from a very old and modified plate holder. I am looking forward to the delivery of my new holders Jan-Feb 2020.
