This is a cool thread. Here’s a modest contribution hoping to keep it going:
Still life (on a dirty pizza stone) in the kitchen, brand-17 4x5, circa 1930’s zeiss 16.5cm f6.3 (hazey to the extreme) barrel lens, 10 seconds f32 window light, HP5+ hc110/h 10.00 68• in the inimitable sp445 tank.

    Hey, Kinografx
Glad to see someone using a Brand 17...
That's not a particularly easy camera to use.
    Nice image!
    Keep up the good work!

Thanks very much! I gotta say tho, I find the Brand exceptionally easy to use (no fussy geared movements!) it’s one reason i keep dragging it out

The far arrow is sweet. And did you move the barrier or remove it?

And I like your final camera placement (a little higher than your set-up shot?) The yellow line becomes a stronger element...and the 35mph is a hoot.

Thanks! I removed the barrier in photoshop...and yeah I think the quick cell snap actually shows a slightly different attempt that didn't include the sign. I took 4 or 5 different angles.... in the final version below I think I grafted together two negs to get a little more sky, that's why the proportion is slightly squarer then 5x7.

For some reason made me think of the John McPhee book In Control of Nature. I'd love to see your big print!
