    Although two of these involve signs they're what I'd call Americana around these parts in the south.

    I don't think there's a thread in the LF section for signs but they could be considered Americana I guess.

    Lincoln-themed stilt walkers are a common July 4th sight, but today I saw a patriotic-themed girl and asked if I could take her photograph. Of course she was balancing so I really quickly focused, loaded the film, rolled the shutter to 1/50th, and shot this, so my framing wasn't perfect. Oh well!

    Perhaps not just an American thing, but this festival celebrates the first large Gold Rush in the USA and always attracts a massive number of people to our little rural town. The large building in the back is the Dahlonega Gold Museum, which was originally the Dahlonega Mint until the Civil War. I'd like to find a gold coin minted there someday.
