Nope. If someone really wants me to see their work, they can extend the courtesy of posting it in a way that allows me to do so without hassle. If not, so be it; there's more than enough rewarding material elsewhere to fill multiple lifetimes of web browsing.

While the first couple sentences seem dire, there's some interesting and relevant details in the rest of the article. And some interesting implications for any article that "embeds" photos, which will make them subject to the whims of the photographer, platform, and even just slight changes to the coding (which could easily break links). I doubt any major source of news embeds images from other services?

(I've still had dozens of images run in one small local newspaper with no authorization, attribution, or PAYMENT.)

Despite the almost overwhelming number of issues with Instagram as a medium and Facebook as a company, I continue to enjoy participating in the little analog community that's hiding there. Folks are interested in sharing and promoting eachothers work, engaging in meaningful discussion, and helping to spread knowledge. I have found mentors, mentees, friends, and inspiration from all across the world. I have yet to find a similar community, but if you know of know, please let me know.
