Greetings from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California

My name is Mike and I live about 40 minutes from the Yosemite Valley. I go to the park several times a month to photograph it’s splendor. I recently acquired a Norma Sinar 4x5 and have begun taking it to the park with me. It is one heck of a learning curve but I have already gotten some of the most stunning shots in my life. Needless to say I am hooked.

    Welcome.

I hope you've had a chance to make some darkroom prints. Seeing the prints makes a world of difference to me.

Would you like to share some of your photos?

Here is a shot I took of El Capitan this week. I took it with my Norma 4x5 on Arista EDU 100 and processed it in Xtol 1:1. I wet mount scanned it with my Epson V850.

I think your photos look great. Please keep us posted, and if you see any tripod holes there, use them. You will have the same view that others have had, but this time, it will be yours!!! There is no same photo, even if you stand where others have been. We are time travelers that only travel to the future at a constant speed (1 hour per hour), so the time and the conditions are different even if you take the photo on the same spot all the time. With those majestic views, you may want to also use the back in the portrait mode to capture more of the park beauty.
