    SF Mission Murals Photo Walk

    https://www.meetup.com/SF-Bay-Area-P...ents/14599534/

This was a fun Meetup attended by 20+ members in San Francisco's Mission District almost 9 years ago. I was one of the few film shooters and shot with a Toyo 45AX.

Don't have to work today and am spending a little extra time with the morning coffee before heading out to photograph with the AX. Took advantage of no internet sales tax and bought a 100 sheet box of 4x5 Delta 100 and a pack of Ilford Ilfobrom Galerie FB to try out.

    Thanks Fionaprincess!

I founded the Bay Area Photography & Exploration Society way back in 2007 and of all the meetups that I scheduled, the New Idria - Ghost Town! was the most interesting:

This was a photographic first look at California's newest ghost town 10 years ago next month. The cover photograph of the Road to New Idria was shot on the then new Kodak Ektar.

As a correction to the above post, the cover photo was actually shot with a Canon G9 digital camera. At the time there were a number of rumors going around to the effect that the the town was quarantined by the county health department due to the presence of Hanta virus and that road was blocked by the county sheriff preventing anyone from entering and citations were being issued with heavy fines. To prove or disprove these rumors I drove down alone, spoke with some of the locals in a nearby bar/restaurant alongside the road, and then toured toured New Idria taking 30+ images of what I found with the G9. I did take a similar image of the road with the big Pentax on Extar and printed it on matte paper. When I went back with the group I photographed with a Pentax 654N on a tripod w/B&W film. For some reason I have not printed any of those negatives and some are quite good - especially those taken inside the smelter.
