A friend gave a25 sheet pack of Fuij 50 8x10. The problem is the box was destroyed but the film bag is still unopened. is this film going to be fogged?

I doubt it very much unless there are gashes in the packaging... but, as Bruce suggested, give a sheet a go and see what comes out!

Wonderful thing about free film -- if it's fogged, all you've lost is the cost of processing one sheet. Not nothing, but not much. I'd say, process one unexposed sheet; even if it's color (Fuji 50 in 8x10 pretty well has to be), process it in B&W chemistry, at home, if you have that capability. You'll be able to see if it's fogged easily enough (even better, cut one sheet, process half and just fix the other half, the difference will be obvious if it's fogged and indistinguishable if not). If it's good (likely, if the black bag isn't damaged and it was left sitting in direct sun for a while), you'll then have 24 sheets of good free film. If it is fogged, you're out a dollar's worth of developer and some darkroom time.
If a contact print at arm's length is too small to see, you need a bigger camera. :D
