    Wet Plate in the NY Times

    Yet one more LF photo essay in the NYT. I found the contents of this essay interesting, but was somewhat put off by the "imperfect" wet plate images that seemed to enjoy the imperfections rather than try to avoid or minimize them.     These are not Bob Ross style happy little mistakes... Basic bad pours of collodion. Bad pours you see and can decide to wipe off and try again before making a photo. Where there were white streaks, too little time in the fixer to clear the thick spots in the pour. If they were massive plates, cut them some slack. But the wire marks in the corner do not indicate that.
