    Just another newbie

Well I worked a bit with 4x5" in photo academy (Brussels) in the late 80's and then again in a commercial studio (Amsterdam) in the late 90's, but somehow I never really liked LF. When a friend bought a Cambo TWR 54 recently -magnificently unique camera BTW- I suddenly realised just why I had never quite liked 4x5: it was simply too small for my taste! SO with that newfound insight I bought myself an old 8x10" Sinar P (with a Norma back).

I just exposed a few B&W sheets and developed them, and it's amazing to see that old habits die hard (loading sheet film, mixing D76 developer, etc.). But I still see myself as a complete newbie when it comes to LF, I really need to improve my technique but I am confident I will manage so I can start with colour. Great forum, lot's of valuable knowledge, thanks!

    Welcome to the forum, Jeroen.

I prefer 8x10 myself but it's all good. Shoot what you like!

Colour, like in Portra Does Fuji still make Velvia in 8x10"? The only color films in 8x10 I've come across in European shops so far are Provia 100 and Portra 160 & 400.

PS: I shoot digital MF (Fuji GFX) and it's a great camera that produces gorgeous files, but the images still look digital.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, B&H has Velvia, but there might be better place in Europe to get it from (or from Kumar in Japan ?).
