This was the original emulsion. This happened a year or so ago.
I got my SP445 tank and 9x12 Lane Plate inserts yesterday
My really good news for today, is that I can drop four 4.5x6cm glass plates into Tim's 9x12 J Lane SP445 process racks. This fit my Plaubel Makinas and Makiflexes, in both sizes that I shoot. See my Avatar. I've tried loading and inverting the tanks for a good bit. The smaller plates do not shift around or break.
Most excellent news! I should show this to Tim...........

Last week i tried some new 25 ASA J.Lane dry plates, in quarter plate and 3A format, and they worked perfectly. I used a Goerz Ango and a couple of Kodak No.3A Folding Pockets. The development of the plages was done in the same way as the 2 ASA slower ones. No problem at all.
Got J Lane 25 asa in 4X5 and sixth plate today.
Ive used quite a few of the J Lane plates and in a email back and forth with Jason he mentioned that probably one of the most important parts of the development is to make sure all your chemicals and water are the same temp. Leave a bottle of water out for a few hours to match your bottles of chemistry. For obvious reasons if you say jump from your developer at 70 degrees to a colder water stop bath coming from your tap or back to a slightly warmer fixer you may have your gel wash right off the glass. I was working on a small island in the pacific and really didn't have access to a proper darkroom so I tray developed as I feel it was much better to be able to judge the processing of the image before stopping it.. Over 15 plates all look great... And I also didn't have access to Hypo or photoflo so lots of time in the water to wash out all the bad stuff.
Im looking forward to this week as Ill be breaking in to another box of asa 25's...
Gentle people
Water is powerful and the universal solvent
Trays, gentle agit, water stop, still, no agit, I use TF5 on everything, gently
Washing is dilution not scrubbing, nor power washing
A big tray of still water will dilute and diffuse with almost no movement given time
City and well water is not safe, free of minerals or chemicals
I don't drink it either
