I have no idea why people keep designing these holders for 3 reel tanks. Whenever I can afford a 3d printer myself, there will be some 2 reel tank options. It's been on my list for a while.

Look carefully, and you will find that there is one 4x5 solution for the 2 reel tank also, yet to find a 5x7 solution for the 2 reel tank :-)

Whats the radius of the generic ss tank? This one is based on a radius of 48mm

    I have a few questions.

    1. In the 5 sheet version, is there enough movement of solution in and out of each "cavity"? If not, the amount of developer in each cavity has to be sufficient to develop the sheet of film.
    2. The Paterson tank depends on an opaque tube in the center to make the interior light tight. Is the 3D filament opaque enough? I assume dark colors would be best.
    3. Your files include a "bottom distributor". Is that for all inserts?
    4. What type of filament did you use? Any idea what type of filament works best and holds up to use?

Thanks for taking the time to create this.

i dont have any double reel tanks but a triple 120 roll ss tank is 85mm diam x 175mm deep.

any chance of making something compatable for 4x5?

    1. Yes, initial experiments indicate that the flow is suffient on both side of the actual insert. If not the volume of each slot is just over 100ml. I fill the tanks to the brim for oneshot black and white developer, and the 3 reel with the 4x5 5sheet insert then took just a little over 1 liter.

    2. The design uses the original patterson tube. Thus the light trap remains.

    3. Only for the 3 reel inserts, there's not sufficient amount of space in the 2 reel tanks.
    4. Currently its PLA, expect to use ABS or PETG if there is any issues.

Sounds like a 4 sheet insert could be made. Will look at it in the week(end), you would have to have it printed and do the testing
