    Luna-Pro F button broke

All of a sudden the red activation button on my Gossen Luna-Pro F has malfunctioned. It seems the spring has either broken or come undone. Does anyone know how to safely open this meter so I can see if I can re-seat the spring? Thank you! Robbie

I don't remember how I got into its innards and don't have access to it right now, but isn't there any screw in the battery compartment that allows you to take the shell apart?

Thank you! Actually I found that a screw in the center of the back took the rear plate off but then there in front of me is the circuit board. The button mechanism is beneath that...which is way too challenging for me. I think I will be sending it out for processional repair..Thank you! Robbie

I think the Luna-Pro is called the Profisix in Europe.

In which case, the movement is removed by unscrewing the badge in the middle of the dial.

Once removed, you should be able to see the wayward spring and a way to reseat it.

Very interesting Mike! Thank you. I just looked at it and can't figure out how to unscrew the badge. It looks like the little plate should come off but I don't want to mess it up. It does not seem to want to unscrew...

Yeah, the central screw is VERY tight, probably held in with some thread-lock compound.

You could use some rubber gloves or a cutting mat to try and move it. There's no point taking off the central plate, it hides nothing, so the whole three-quarter inch centre is what needs to be unscrewed.

If you're not comfortable going this route, then the only other option is to send it to a professional repair shop.

Mike, I got the screw off with some Gorillia Tape. That's as far as I'm going to go. It looks as if the whole computer dial assembly will have to come off and then (eventually) be reassembled. I tried to get the screw back in (without taking any dials off) and it will not seat. It seems there's a nut inside. I can hear it rattle. I think I'll be sending it out at this point!
