Last I checked, a liter of Eboni from STS was $100.

That's about right. When I checked in July, 2018 STS WJ1082 was $95 USD; shipping to Canada adds a lot to that because the insist on UPS ground so it's definitely a better deal in the US. The Canon Lucia carts (PFI-106B and PFI-106C) are around $78 a piece from B&H. That's the bulk of the cost. Gylcerol, PhotoFlo, Edwal LFN and distilled water are relatively cheap. Many people on this forum will have one or both of PhotoFlo and Edwal LFN on hand anyway. I get the glycerol (sold as "Glycerin 100%) from the local Shopper's Drugmart drugstore. A good digital scale that reads in 10ths of a gram is also essential. Of course you also need syringes and bottles, which can be re-used many times. I'm using a $25 CAD scale from Amazon that works just fine for this job.

All in all, it's very economical. With 1 litre of WJ1082 and the Canon Lucia carts, I make 500 grams (roughly 500 ml) of ink for each of the 8 positions that get used in my Epson 3880. Each cart takes around 85ml of ink, so that's 5.5 complete refills.

Anyone who can mix up chemicals for processing film can also mix up their own ink for black and white printing on Epson printers.

I tried to use MIS to get Eboni, but they took so long to ship it that I went looking for options, that's when I found the old Epson carts in a local store. Now I have 500ml of Eboni that finally made it to Brazil, not sure when will I use it.
