Ah gotcha. That's actually a valid point. Separately my 4x5 gear isn't a lot but with all the other cruise stuff, could add up. Or if I bring my full 4x5 camera bag now I have another full bag to lug on the plane. I've done that before, but not when also lugging all the other stuff around as typical for a cruise.

This sounds like a job for a Speed Graphic!

Yes it does absolutely! Alas I don't have one :/ but maybe one day. They seem like very cool cameras. There's a 3D printed 4x5 camera designed to be hand-held coming out (or is it already out?). It's no Graphic but it seems pretty neat just the same.

Timely question. I was seriously thinking of taking my Graflex upon my next cruise. I've taken all the digi images I need on my last cruise, the 4x5 would be a nice change and would probably create some interest when in the local markets. Might make it easier to get genuine images of the locals.

I don't play the piano, I don't have a beard and I listen to AC/DC in the darkroom. I have no hope as a photographer.

I hadn't even thought of portraits but dang that would be really neat. Curious, for those sorts of portraits do you ever offer to send them a copy (digital or otherwise) back? Always wondered what folks do there.
