Question about front std bolt on Phillips/Chamonix design

I am building a camera and planning to use the above design for the front standard, i.e., an o/w unattached front standard that bolts onto the front rail each time the camera is set up and allows both L/R shift and swing.

I have parts for a thumb screw and stud as well as a nut to fit into the rail below the front standard.

What I do not yet have is a hardware piece to keep the knob and stud secured to the base of the front standard when the front std is unscrewed from the rail.

Suggestion/photos would be greatly appreciated from forum members who have cameras with this design—especially from DIYers who can suggest parts from a source like McMaster-Carr.

    Thanks!
    Michael

A one off could be made by grinding down the threads below the knob for a distance that is shorter than the thread engagement needed and install a circlip. https://www.mcmaster.com/circlips

Thanks, Randy. It looks like either the C-style or E-style 15-7 PH stainless steel rings could work for my application.
