Effect of Different Mixing Boxes for Chromega E Dichroic II

I have a Chromega E Dichroic II 5x7 enlarger with the standard E-E mixing chamber for 5x7. I know that is recommended that the E-D and E-B mixing chambers are to be used when enlarging smaller formats. Since those can be difficult to find, what would be the effect of using just the E-E chamber when working with smaller formats ? Seems like evenness of light coverage should not be a problem. I don't make large prints, so I never run into extremely long exposure times. Would appreciate tales of your "real world experience."

    Thanks.

The E-D and E-B mixing chambers will allow shorter printing times. That is their purpose.

Thanks. Kind of thought so. Guess I will try printing the smaller format negs with the E-E chamber to see if the times are objectionably long. If so, then seek out the E-D and/or E-B.
