I have seen only one implementation of the ignore list idea where that person would genuinely disappear--no [you have chosen to ignore this member's posts] notice, no quotes from him in other people's posts. The usual method really isn't enough, in my opinion. I don't want to be taunted by a notice that I'm ignoring someone. It would be a bonus for ignored people to not see my posts as well.
I just checked my ignore list here. Interesting to observe that 3/4 of that list never posts now, where from the people I really do like to read, very few have stopped posting. So there's always the optimistic possibility that the rest of my list will move on, also. :-)
Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:

I blocked myself for being an idiot, but I can still read everything I post...
"I love my Verito lens, but I always have to sharpen everything in Photoshop..."
it would be nice to know who is ignoring you. perhaps a list of ignorants someplace in the user profile info?
.
Randy, can you read this?

I only have 4 people on the ignore list. Two are still active but one of them only in a blue moon.
I like the idea of not even seeing that they have posted.

I don't play the piano, I don't have a beard and I listen to AC/DC in the darkroom. I have no hope as a photographer.
I only have one person on ignore. That was over ten years ago and I've never seen a post from him since. So either it's working or he just didn't post anymore.
