I have a Shen Hao camera and my lens board has a small hole on top of the board (in the middle). What is this hole for?
And would this lens board also work (without the small hole in the top middle)?
In the above photo the lens board I have has the small hole on top between the two silver metal parts.

No, on top of the board...the board I have has a small hole in between the two top silver parts.

Should work, it is just a better copy of the Linhof board.
As long as the hole is covered when the lensboard is mounted, there should be no problem. Mount the board, take the back off the camera and check to see if there's a light leak. Then you'll know.
