As you all seem to be convinced I'm wrong and should use an off-center board on this camera I decided to take a photo of it.

I mounted a spare off-set lensboard without a lens on the camera and moved this as close to the GG as possible. No vertical raise given, all movements in center position. Then I aligned my camera with the center of the GG (the middle circle). The clear part in the middle is the off-center hole.

If that hole is in the center of the optical axis...

Of course you can make lensboards with centered holes.

I've done that for all my field cameras over the years.

Put the board on the mill, center it, and bore the hole. Done.

Bob, are you saying that none of Linhof's recessed boards are off-set?

Step one: acquire a mill. Just kidding. A drill press works. There are so many sizes of hole saws, and dreaded (by me) fly-cutters.

Oh gosh. I've had no problem acquiring good center-hole Technika-style boards with various shutter openings. I use em on my Ebony 4x5 folder, and via an adapter board, on my Sinar Norma and 6x10 folder, where an off-center hole makes no sense. Word of caution - good diecast aluminum is tougher to drill than you might think. I tightly clamp such things with non-mar rubber washers on screws onto a large board, then use huge Bessey bar clamps to affix this to the drill press. Both large hole saws and especially
fly cutters can really cut things loose and make em fly ('scuse the pun) if you are careless. You also want some cutting oil handy. It's not like boring plywood.

I may have one or two used center-hole Technika type Copal 0 boards. I can you also get you new Toyo brand Technika type center-hole boards. Let me know if you are interested.

Any chance of black Graflex board #0 or preferably no-hole for my Toyo View 4"3/4x6"1/2?

Big Wehman, Toyo 5x7" and a small Chamonix

That's a common misconception. Not true.

If the lens (hole) is offset low, it brings the bed closer to the optical axis.
That makes it more likely the bed will be within the field of view, not less likely.

Also, the Technika lensboards are asymmetric, so they cannot be rotated to move the hole up.
It's just a really really stupid design.
