Pneumatic metal fitting for lens board

    Hello,

I am looking for to get the metal fitting to install the pneumatic tubing onto the lens board.
It is to operate a Conley barn door shutter.

    Thanks for your advice,

I have used a short length of brass tubing, stuck through a tight-fit hole. It's not necessary to have the ribbing on the tube for the hose to stick, in fact the smooth brass probably holds more tightly.
Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:

As mdarton wrote, simple brass tube will work. If you have an Ace Hardware store nearby, look into their hobby department for their collection of narrow brass tubes. Note that each size tube fits into the next size tube perfectly, rather like telescoping parts, so it is easy to find a good fit.

For a classic solution visit glennview.com and look for air fittings, or visit packard ideal shutters.

Over the years I used various fittings: brass tubing, ss tubing, copper tubing, straight and L brass and plastic hose barb fittings and even smaller stiff hose. Straight hose barb fittings are the most common.
