IMO this exhibition's reception suggests that Mann's work will be exemplary for the comming generations of artistic photographers. In these times of overprocessed food and overprocessed pixels Mann's work enlights a path to authenticity and to purity.
If the institution and artist thought it is desirable to provide a on-line version of an exhibit, they would have done so. Since obviously they didn't, I'd suggest it best to respect their will, esp. when an excellent catalog exists.
On the other hand, there is definitively value in taking photos of the installation (as opposed to just the artwork). For instance, I was glad to be able to see what the Ansel Adams show at the MOMA looked like after reading Kenneth Brower's criticism of the centenial exhibit. And "Lighter" by Wolfgang Tillmans is a book consisiting exclusively of pictures of his installations that works quite well as a photo book.
Really like the DR video
"The mendacity of photography..." fantastic!
