Dear Mexipike:
There are no silver bullets in film photography. Fortunately, you don't need one. PMK is wonderful; I get it from Photographers' Formulary. It's inexpensive, and lasts forever. The results are terrific. It will suit the type of work you do quite well. But PMK is very poisonous; you have to be really, really careful.
X-to works great, too. Very easy to work with and gives excellent, sharp, contrasty results.
