Photos of my el cheapo 4x5 holder carrier

In August I asked advice about a carrier for holders, and later reported back my solution, promising pictures when complete. I'm finally getting around to it. For my description of parts and construction, see http://www.largeformatphotography.in...ghlight=picnic.

    1. $5 for the child's lunch case, logos marked over (no offense, sports fans...)

    2. Inside with a full complement of holders (14)

    3. Showing the wrapped foam and closed cell foam used for side and center inserts. Two layers of closed cell line the bottom as well.

    4. Finally, showing the rear pad partially removed.

    Great, that is a solution!!!

The thing I'd add is every few holders are placed in anti-static zip bags to keep them free from dust, and figure out how to prevent used holders from mixing with the unxpd, and I don't like the possibly of used holders picking up dust during use, and stored next to unused holders (just my superstition)...

I also keep a small computer/fone pouch in that bag to carry holders to the camera in very bright light...

I put fully exposed holders upside down in their zip-lock bags. That's a visual and tactile difference.
Empty holders are *never* put in with 'unexposed' stock. Guess where that rule comes from?

It is also sensible to leave enough space in a row of holders to allow your fingers to grip the holder, not just the dark slide handles. The slide lock are not always reliable.

Steve, my work -- I should say, my intended work, as scheduling to get started has been a challenge -- is location portraiture, most of which will be inside, so dust is much less of an issue for me than for many. It is another reason I didn't also find a way to cover the outside with opaque white material to keep the contents cooler in sunlight.
