I believe the picture shows the tube heater pad and temperature control. Wired to the heater plug. Should not have to change any of this for a new lamp.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will leave the paint as is for now. If it is too bright then I can try to diffuse the light as you mentioned, Drew. Louise Kessler at Light Source told me I might consider putting in a new ballast when I change the light. I have tried to find something similar to match what is in the above photo, but doubt that is possible as they appear to have been special made for Durst. Hopefully it will last awhile.
