    Clethra and fern

Made in my back yard about a week ago. The clethra (Sweet Pepperbush) has been flowering abundantly this year for some reason. It grows wild around here and it's an ongoing chore to keep it more or less at bay.
    Where are we going?
And why are we in this handbasket?

Beautiful and subtle image Joe, and technically perfect. I am a bit jealous of your location near the NJ pines. Unfortunately my connection there is no longer. I had intended to visit this year but a combination of poor weather and illness from Anaplasmosis put a damper on a visit. After 40 years of dealing with ticks I finally missed one and got pretty sick - out of commission for 6 weeks give or take.

    Best,
