    Super Large Files to print

This question is for those of you who are currently printing very large files.

Currently to date, I have been able to print 1.8 gig files directly through PS to print driver on Canon. I am being asked about super sized
files .. 7 gigs and bigger...

any experience printing with such large files and if so how are you doing it??

    thanks Bob

    Hi Bob,
This may or may not be meaningful: some of my 8x10 scanned/edited files are as large as 3 gig in size, and I can send them from Lightroom6 to my Canon printer without any problem. I googled for "What is the largest file Lightroom can send to a printer?" and basically got nothing relevant. Why not manufacture a HUGE file for yourself and see if it can be sent to your printer?

    Hi Paul

I lock up my workflow at about 1.8 gigs to printer. I am hoping someone who prints directly from PS to a print driver can help. My printer supports 16 bit and 8 bit.. I am talking about a 8bit 1.8gig file seems to be my max

I print on my 60" Canon printer files above 6GB using the Canon interface via Photoshop. It just depends on the printer and the interface. When I used to print on an 44" Epson 9800 series I would have all sorts of problems with files above a few Gb. How large do you want to print? Which Canon are you printing on? Are these Photoshop files or tiffs?

Could the issue be the amount of memory you have on your computer available for the print cache?

I am no expert, but my guess is that the 4GB memory may be your bottleneck. I know LR/PS CC runs on 2GB, but 8GB is recommended.
