cc40y and cold light

A while back I read a piece by Howard Bond in PhotoTechniques wherein he talked about adding a cc40y to a cold light head to obtain better filter spacing - I think. I can't determine the back issue of PhotTechniques to order from their listings. Can anyone help with the issue so I can order?
