    Re: 35mm and digital infrared

Late last year, I was twiddling my thumbs one Saturday morning with nothing of consequence to do, so on a whim I decided to remove the hot filter / dust shaker / cover glass from the sensor of my Samsung NX500 and convert it to a full-spectrum camera.

I had a Hoya R72 filter on hand from a previous dabble with IR photography using my non-converted Fuji X-Pro1 and started to experiment with photographing in infrared light handheld, usually while I was walking my dog around the neighborhood.

Here are a few of my recent results, taken using Contax N 17-35/f2.8 and 24-85/f3.5-4.5 zooms via a Fotodiox Fuji X-mount adapter I also had on hand and modified so it will mount on my NX500 and allow these lenses to focus at infinity:

    Re: 35mm and digital infrared

Just discovered this thread. Infrared is one of my favorite processes, both digital and film.

    A digital example, Leica M8, 21mm f/2.8 Elmarit-M (Pre-ASPH), Hoya R72 filter, Mission Concepcion, San Antonio

A film example, Pentax ME-Super, Kalimar 28-200mm f/3.5-5.3 MC Auto Macro Zoom Lens with No. 29 Deep Red Filter, Kodak High Speed Infrared (HIE), HC-110B, El Capitan

At Sandy Beach in Rockland Maine. This photo is made by my 13yo daughter. I liked it better than the ones on the memory card which I'd shot.

    Those look great!
