    Apo-Ronar question

I recently bought a matched pair of Apo Ronar lenses. They came on a big board, obviously from a process camera. One is a 240mm and the other a 760. Can anyone explain some writing on the aperture scales on the board? On the scale for the 240, it says 'Apo Ronar CL 240-800', and on the other scale it says, 'Apo Ronar CL 760-1200'.

What do the 800 and 1200 signify?

    240-800, good for 240 - 800mm Apo-Ronars. Similarly for 760 - 1200.

There may be several scales around each lens, each scale marked with a focal length. I've extracted several sets of process lenses from panels like the one you described, all had multiple scales.

    Ah! Okay, that makes sense.

    Thanks, Dan!

There are multiple scales, and with your explanation, they are much easier to understand now. I won't be using them, but I like to understand things.

CL means a Linda riser aperture scale.

I had already read about what 'CL' means somewhere else on the forum, and it was one of you two who wrote it, if I recall correctly.

The 760 is a great lens and mounts nicely in an Ilex 5. Light and large coverage.
