    What is this SINAR piece?

    Hello.

I inherited a bunch of camera/darkroom equipment from my late uncle, and have no idea what most of it is.

Can someone please tell me what this contraption is called? The diaphragm-y thing is marked Sinar...I'm not sure if it's removable from the hinged piece or whether it's all one. There is a small piece of white label on which my uncle labeled "58mm."

Thank you very much for your help.

Thank you SO much for the information, and for supplying that link. That helps me ID a couple of other pieces I have, also.

Sinar-Bron used to regularly send out complete catalogs that described each component in their system in detail...

Try to get your hands on some... Lots of other info inside...

You are very welcome. I'm just glad that I was able to help you.

If you notice the link, it is from Ken Lee Gallery. Ken is a member here and also a very nice guy. Here is a link to his website. He has all kinds of great information plus examples of his lovely photography. I've learned a lot from him.
