flup, posting to an online forum for this is .... not enough...

I remember the portrait, from the instant I saw it: pixie-like, irreducible, an I-know-something-you-don't look in the eyes; one expected snakeskin, indianhead nickles and bottle rockets to be in his pockets, something out of a Bradbury story...

blessings upon you and your family,

    -Tim

Such sadness in life we are never prepared for no matter if we knew what to expect. I dont know you but i can share a similar loss for me which changed my life forever. My sincere condolences.

I can only say for myself, it wasnt until i could focus enough following the loss, with my first foray back to 4x5 photography after months of deep hurt, that I found a sense that I could heal from it.

True story and photography remains my way of dealing with many losses.

I hope you can find solace and some balance through the motions of your art.

    Best wishes to you.

Your two portraits at the beginning serve both as documents and, like all portraits, as memorials. When we, your colleagues, look at them, we draw upon our own memories, but the content is outside of that. When you look at them the document and the memory are as one.
I cry for parents, like you, that have lost a child, but I know that the photographs were taken with love and when you look at them, you will see the love again.
Keep the photographs safe and remember the joys that you shared.
    I wish you well.

bright and merry are we. reluctantly following or curiously leading ahead.
May the memories bring you smiles, and their love live in you as you share all that you love.
    My sincere condolences.
And a hug should you desire,
