    Hi Jason,

I like it - simple and very much in my retro 1990's style of website preference with no Adobe flash.

The whole plate sizes which you have listed runs at 215mm x 164mm: sometime ago the whole plate photographers tried to ascertain how much of the whole plate area usage was possible: 223 x 165mm is what I'm averaging on extreme wide-angle lenses (Schneider Super Angulon 90mm XL) with sizings heading pretty much into your plate sizes. I see your sizing choices would then work best for the majority of the dry plate holders for whole plate cameras, extant or vintage.

The pricing in the USA is very reasonable for the handcrafted effort - it might even be cheaper than the now discontinuing half-plate Fuji Acros sheet format in the black market.

    Kind regards,

    RJ

Fresh dry plates in a variety of sizes

RJ: Thank you for the kind words. I tried to keep the price reasonable.. enough to cover materials and stock the beer fridge. It helps I don’t have to make a living off them. I’ve sold whole plates to several folks and they’ve all fit.

David, thank you! It’s pretty cool and they’ve been as supportive as Blue Moon

Well, after a months delay - and a transatlantic flight - I eventually got around to trying my first full plate. Most just to test the coverage of a 21cm Petzval.

I was not very careful about either exposure times or choice of developer. It appears to be a very robust emulsion and captured an image at the edges of plate - where nothing was visable on the ground glass. Help from reciprocity failure, perhaps?

No loss of emulsion, except edge mark from a wandering finger!

Got the email from Freestyle last week. I generally find email ads to be annoying, but was delighted to see they had picked you up Jason.
Congratulations and keep up the good work!

    Thanks, Will!

Steve, great to hear and your result is in line with my experience. It’s a forgiving emulsion.

New update to the website "updates" page. I had a handful of people ask about a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" format size plate over the past few days, which I can easily cut of course. Apparently a company makes wet plate adapter backs for Holga cameras which these customers have and wanted to try out dry plates in them.

    That’s Hasselblad size.

I will order shortly. First I need to check thickness capacity on my Hassy film holders.

I shot X-Ray in them heretofore.

Randy, can you verify the dimensions when you order? The dimensions that you cut the X-ray film to would be great. I don't have experience with that size so I haven't settled on cut dimensions yet to ensure "one size fits all". Still collecting measurements from people who use them.
