I know the entire area very well from 1967
Wagner's working farm was not a playground
Before Allstate, was all corn
Before 53 ended at Dundee
When Dundee road was 2 lane and empty
Before the Botanical Gardens, I saw them grow it all from scratch
Before the extension

What mostly comes to mind in your bridge
I have seen too many homeless under a bridge

A lot has changed since 1967, some of it better than others.
As Paul Kantner & Jefferson Airplane proclaimed "Life is change, how it differs from the rocks" See how I sneaked in a large format reference? ROCKS!!

When I was photographing the Chicago River I had a lot of very positive interactions with homeless people. They were curious, respectful, and protective of me—a very interesting glimpse of a life I know almost nothing about and can't imagine.

I went back to Ohio
But my city was gone
There was no train station
There was no downtown
South Howard had disappeared
All my favorite places
My city had been pulled down
Reduced to parking spaces
Ay, oh, way to go, Ohio
Well, I went back to Ohio
But my family was gone
I stood on the back porch
There was nobody home
I was stunned and amazed
My childhood memories
Slowly swirled past
Like the wind through the trees
Ay, oh, way to go, Ohio
I went back to Ohio
But my pretty countryside
Had been paved down the middle
By a government that had no pride
The farms of Ohio
Had been replaced by shopping malls
And Muzak filled the air
From Seneca to Cuyahoga Falls
Said, ay, oh, way to go, Ohio

Like this one! Sent it to my buddy who grew up in Ambler. I visited him there 40+ years ago. He said his grandfather was friend of the painter who painted a collection of the bridges in that area, including this one that he described as the "bridge over the Wissahickon Creek right across from Germantown Academy".
