    Cars, Boats, Trains, Planes

Photos of the things that take us somewhere else...

If you're in France, you may have used one of these to haul your sofa home from the store...

That truck is ripe with character and what an excellent portrait of it too.

I posted a version of this in 400TMY a while back but since then I replaced the source with this FP4+ version.

Very popular as moving vans you could hire in Belgium as well. We moved my brothers several times with one of those. Never one with a canvas back however. Sadly the few remaining are being butcherd into food trucks.

Unless it has something spinning around out front, and has fabric covered wings, you're not really flying.
    Here's a bit of nostalgia...

. . Wishing... Vancouver, Washington by Reinhold S., on Flickr

Sixty-five years ago, my brother and I would watch airplanes flying from the tallgrass prairie near Chicago.
We were always wishing for a ride... later we both became pilots.
The sound of round engines overhead still makes our eyes look to the sky above.

    # ACAQ 057... A Stearman prepares to take off from the historic Evergreen Flying Service field (now just a collection of condos).
Camera: Mamiya RB67, 360mm lens, YG filter, Kodak PXP film.
