Contact Bob Watkins at Precision Camera in Niles IL and ask him. He is the factory service center for the USA.
BTW, Linhof has only one f and it is a III not an iii.

I fully understand your problem with the very common double f mistake in Linhof. As a "Steven", however, I have learned to accept "Stephen" without a grimace!
But, iii is a fully acceptible non-capital version of the latin III.
There must be an illustration on-line which could help the OP.
Lots of info on Linhof III on this site: https://grossformatfotografie.de/thr...des-e-messers/
Maybe they can help you out ...(member Xipho reads English

as far as spelling linhof this is my first. i'm used to spelling deardorff.
for those who can't read German the assembly of parts on the back is:
(lens side)
1. 2 long holding bars with 2 screws ea
2. 4 spacers (2ea)
3. Fresnel lens shiny side towards lens(rests against underside of holding bars)
4. ground glass matt side towards lens(sandwiched against ridged side of Fresnel lens)
5. 2 spring bars (1screw ea.) tips pushing against shiny side of ground glass
the order of assembly is in reverse order (5,4,3,2,1)
the spring bars push the ground glass, Fresnel lens sandwich against the holding bars for correct focus positioning
the tech iii did not come with a Fresnel lens. if used, modifications of above 4 spacers are necessary for correct focus
