    Book Reading

Hello all. I'm going to be doing a book reading at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Saturday, February 11th at 1:00 pm. These things make me incredibly nervous, so if you're in the neighborhood and would like to come help shore me up, please stop by. Thanks!

Cool, only 16 miles from my house, should be able to make it. Hope this place is big as I sure you have a lot of fans here in the Bay Area. Don't forget you owe me a signature.

Austin, you come through wonderfully in person. 'Genuine, unpretentious. You'll be very well received.

I'm intrigued, if only to see how you read a book of photographs 8-) I will have to see if I am up for a 3-4 hour trip away from home - I hope so, I have not left the house since my surgery.

Just remember to breath and don't forget the audience are your friends. They want you to succeed and will not be judgemental.

I've done a fair number of similar events and discovered I rather enjoy them. I found that quite surprising...

There is a lot of text in it Graham. Honestly, I think of it more as a prose book with pictures than a photo book with prose. But I'm always up for talking about photography, large format or otherwise!

Thanks David. I have come to enjoy this sort of thing more than I used to, but it's still terrifying.

Thanks Richard, that's good advise. The breathing thing is very important. The first time I gave a presentation to a group of people, my hands and face literally went numb and I thought for sure I was going to keel over. I think it was from lack of oxygen. As I mentioned above, I am enjoying them more. I definitely enjoy the part when I'm done!

Thanks Merg. I've been in Oregon for a decade now, but the Bay Area will always be home, and it does feel good to be going back, if only for a weekend. I'm going to try and sneak out to Point Reyes to pay my regards.

Sweet, I'll plan to come up from SF for your talk. Corte Madera also always offers the excuse of a hike in the redwoods to Dawn Falls.
