    Re: November 2016 Portrait Thread

My portrait taken with a 1889 Scovill Albion 6.5x8.8 field camera with a Rochester Victor lens using same file holders but adapted to 5x7 Ilford HP5 film, at f8--with a little help with PS----I am still unsure of what this lens is capable of as this is all new to me.Click image for larger version.

Two cracking portraits there, Sergei. I think the top one is my favourite.

    Re: November 2016 Portrait Thread

My daughter kindly posed for a portrait over the weekend. This is a quick scan, the composition is better on the negative some of which got cropped by the scanner (v800). Ilford HP5+ film Linhof master technika, Schneider APO 210mm lens at f5.6. It is a shame about the emulsion damage on the bottom left not sure what caused that. I will print this in the darkroom. Does anyone have any ideas how I can hide the emulsion damage at the printing stage?

Rob, easiest way to hide this is to just add vignette with dark or fuzzy corners.. IMHO that is... Or super impose other image there with some cute animal cutout

A collaborative photo at a little wet-plate seminar given by my friend Kaleb. He poured the plate and developed it. I setup the photo and did the posing. My friend Jenu modeled. Here is the full 4x5 plate as scanned:
