    October 2016 portrait

here is a small 4x5 wet plate collodion portrait of my friend Boris, owner at l'Atelier de Palerme. We both are wetplate photographers, today we added a 2000w Arrilite to the natural light to see what it was worth...

A senior portrait. Shot a few with the Speed Graphic and Aero Ektar after I put my DSLR away.

Lovely girl, captured very well. Usually the Aero-Ektar butchers the background in an unpleasant way. Here it works.

Thank you ! As with any lens, the background distance/complexity/detail/busyness is important to consider. A bad background can bite you with a soft focus or petzval just as easily. Practice almost makes perfect.
