Years ago (1992-ish) I cobbled together a B&L "Discoverer" spotting scope and a Speed Graphic to do some eyepiece projection photography. The assembly was inelegant, and cumbersome. I got a few (very few) shots of the sun coming up behind an agricultural windmill. With that telephoto stacking perspective, the sun and windmill blades were about the same size.

I focused the scope on the windmill in the pre-sunrise dawn first. Because the sun was horizon low when shooting, the intensity was not too bright folr the film. Didn't use any kind of filter. negs were lost a while back.

Anybody else ever done something like that?
