okay thanks any idea or suggestions for some nice lens for 5x7 maybe later 8x10 that would be quite cheap but also quite good? (asking for too much?)

The Fujinon 135mm W in Seiko shutter, will cover 5x7 (at least marginally) and is not expensive considering what it cost new. They are probably hundreds of LF lenses that would be "nice" for 5x7 so you probably need to be more specific about your budget and what you need (lightweight lens or studio lens etc etc).

I bought a 240mm f5.6 Nikon W end of last year off this Forum at a very good price, excellent as a normal lens for 5x4, and a good wide angle on 10x8.

There will be (are) other 240mm lenses that cove 7x5 and 10x8 ike the 240mm Symmar S, there's a lot of data on this website if you go to the root and scroll down to lenses. It's a great resource.

If you watch the For Sales here carefully and also do some searching around locally you can easily find lenses for less than two hundred bucks. I paid £25 (less than $35) for my 10" Petzval at a Flea market.

In the UK I'd be looking at MWClassic for a lens, they are often very fair prices and well described, they do sell to the US.

You need to decided what format(s) you want to shoot and choose a lens that's appropriate.

Swirls are gimmicky. Yes a good petzval is out of your $200 price range. For about $350.00-400.00 you might find a wollensak 5x7 vesta/ Aka Seroco portrait 5x7, aka Conley portrait 5x7 about 10 inch f5 petzval. On the super cheap a 240mm or 270mm f4.5 schneider xenar in barrel (tessar type) is a nice cheap wet plate lens for 5x7. about $100-125 Stick to older uncoated lenses if you can to cut down on contrast. IMO
