    Schneider-Kreuznach Super-Symmar HM 5.6/150

    Hi All,

What do you think of this lens for 4x5 landscape, Color film? I saw in the archives that it is heavy. Will I regret it in my backpack on the trail? Otherwise is it a good modern lens?

Personally I think overkill. At seven-tenths of a kilogram I'd use that lens on a monorail in situations where the production staff can move things around for me. Otherwise, for 4x5 landscape I use a compact 2000g field camera and 350g 150mm lens.

I'd certainly try it out and see for yourself. Once you add in the wight of film holders and sturdy tripod the extra 400g may not be evident when on the trail.
