Ilex Lens Serial Number and Manufacture Date Info?

I've been Googling for information on serial numbers and dates of manufacture for Ilex Paragon lenses, but so far haven't found anything useful.

I'm mainly interested in getting a rough idea of when mine was made.

It's an Ilex Paragon f4.5, 12" EFL, Series S, in barrel. Serial number is in the 48,000 range.

The barrel is painted black, and doesn't appear to be brass, guessing it might be aluminum.

The glass doesn't appear to be coated.

Any leads or rough manufacture date estimates would be appreciated.

I bought it last year on one of my Ebay bottom trawling expeditions, and plan to eventually use it on the 8X10 Seneca. The glass looks really good and the diaphragm works well.

I believe the series S came to market in 1945. Given its not coated, I would say its probably 45-46 because these started to be sold coated in 47+48
