Thanks John. That's the entrance to the observation bunker on the previous page. Camp Hayden is an interesting spot if you're in the Port Angeles area. In addition to Battery 131 there are a few coastal defense bunkers and installations up on Striped Peak that aren't maintained but still fun to explore. Camp Hayden is also on the bluff just above Crescent Beach/Tongue Point.

Winter stroll in Cuenca (Spain), the old gorgeous City of La Mancha.
I was eager to capture some of its most typical places with my large format camera.
It deserve another (and another) visit with more sheets, filters (I forgot them) and some color ;-)

The gorge of the Huécar river is one of the most spectacular images of the city. On one side you can see the houses, churches and ancient palaces of the older city. Among them, one of the oldest churches of Cuenca, San Pedro.
It is the most emblematic and one of the oldest of Cuenca’s churches. Amongst its treasures the highly supressed Baroque-style front and the Mudejar coffered ceiling in one of its chapels are what stand out. It stands out due to its octagonal ground plan on the outside which becomes circular inside.

Another emblematic building in the right side of the gorge is the Historical Archive.
This building situated in the historical centre of the city has had many different purposes: castle, headquarters of the Inquisition tribunal in the Cuenca area, barracks during the Carlist wars, regional prison and historical archive.
It’s a free-standing building with four floors and an interesting crest on the doorway and it constitutes an important landscape landmark in the shaping of the city due to its size and dimensions. It is assigned to hold documentation and for administrative work.

San Pablo Convent
The astonishing San Pablo convent looks at the whole of Cuenca from the other side of the river Huécar and it reaches the hanging houses by crossing the bridge of the same name.
Built in 1523 for the Dominican order, it was restored as a Parador hotel and it now hosts tourists that can wake up there and have the first thing they see be the incredible view of Cuenca where both the strength of man and nature complement one another to make a unique picture-postcard.

Historic railroad station in Union Bridge, Maryland. Its an active station and the building serves as the Western Maryland Railroad Museum.
