Congratulations Farid - did the refurbisher refinish the wood (looks like-new) or did the previous owners "keep it indoors"? I have a Korona 7x17 and it's lovely and I have some Kodak No.2 cams (various formats) and as nice as the wood is I'm tempted to strip them down & refinish the wood. Or not. Best of success to you & Korona, alfredian

    hi Alfredian

as far as i know Alan Brubaker refurbished it...the owner before as i've seen in his gallery used it outdoors to shoot high alpine images.
i am now reading my very first book about the whole collodion story fom scratch. in october a workshop will follow. then i still need a glass holder for the wet plates...
(very first tries will be held with a modified lomo 6x6 cam and glass or aluminium before hitting the bigger one
    best regards from switzerland

Farid, the 178/2.5 Aero Ektar covers 4x5 at infinity, 8x10 at 1:1. Do you intend to use it only for closeup work, e.g., tight portraits?

V8 Deardorff next to 11x14 Folmer and Schwing c.1940 and 1917. Both have nice original bellows and finish.

That's a mighty lovely F & S, would that be one of their 'Skyscraper' models..........................? As I assume that it wasn't intended for 'Banquet work'

It's a "Commercial Camera" I think it's very similar to the skyscraper version. Has front rise and some back movements, 5 feet of bellows with the two track extensions. I know the history behind this, never heavily used, finish is lovely. I've grown to appreciate it more in the last few years. I bought it 35+ years ago with 6 film holders for 300 bucks, which was a lot of money for me at the time.

I've been working on the adapter for the last few weeks during the lock down.
