On the roof in Um el Fahm. As I was setting up today someone called down from one of the nearby buildings. When I told him I was photographing he asked if I wanted to come up to his roof for a better view. An offer no one would refuse, and Ahmed, my host, could not have been nicer or more hospitable. He helped me lug some of my gear up several flights of steps, and fed me and talked as I went about making some really nice images. Couldn't ask for a better day out. The camera is a 717 folmer and schwing, dagor and artar lenses, S&S holders.

Very nice. I've got a 11 x 14 F&S, hauling it around is quite a chore. That's a great story about your host!

I can't believe you have that beautiful camera on top of that tall column! Or do you like vibration in your images?

Yes Jim. I'm specifically using this tripod / column to induce vibrations. It's a new technique I'm doing to make my images look as bad as possible. But it just didn't work! The negative is perfectly sharp! I guess I'll just have to try again and raise the column even higher!

With taxes it came out to about $3500 shipped including the 5x7 and 8x10 reducing backs, 3 lens boards and 8" to 140mm Sinar/Horseman adapter. The seller received it in 2020 but can't use it due to an injury. It seems basically new!
