Sealing New Bellows in Deardorff Rear Frame

I have replace the bellows in my V8 Deardorff. I noticed when removing the old bellows the rear of the bellows was sealed into the rear frame with some sort of putty like material. The fit of the replacement bellows is very good but not perfect. What would be a good material to seal up the rear of the bellows into the rear frame.

An ancient thread but relevant. I use 1/4” black masking tape all around, also use it when lens boards are loose.
