Sextant with compass i had for some time (there is collodion plate of that somewhere) , wings i built - took couple evenings I am about to make another set for another shoot - going to work on them either this weekend or next. They are much cooler on the back than on the front, btw )

I second that motion. Great portrait, Alessandro.

Thank you for the kind words everyone! I do plan to post more. Portraits, maybe (not usually my cup of tea) but you can certainly count on me for urban landscapes.

    Re: January 2016 Portraits

I'm doing a 52 weeks projects where I shoot a paper negative every week for all of 2016.

Today I went out with a couple of other photographers to photograph barns and abandoned buildings. We had a blast and they were VERY patient with me and the massive amount of time it took me to take only a few photos. At the end of the day, I thought I'd get a quick snap of them with my fav portrait lens, the 135mm Xenotar. I missed focus a bit (this is my first portrait with this lens) but I think, given the look, I'll def be practicing with this lens a lot more!

    Camera: Wista 45DX
    Lens: Schneider-Kreuznach Xenotar 135mm f3.5
Film: Ilford Multigrade IV RC Paper
    Exposure: 1/25 seconds, f3.5 at ISO 8
    Movements: about 1/4 front rise
Developer: Dektol 1+12, ~45 seconds at 22 degrees
