    Strange lines on negatives

First up I'm not sure this is in the right place....

These two negatives were made on the same day in the same camera but with different lenses and film holders. They were developed a few weeks apart and they've both got pretty prominent lines down them in near exactly the same place. So far so light leak, except one of the lines is black and the other white. Both done in a jobo 2509n and rotary processed in d23.

These are photos of the actual negatives on a light box.

Can not see any dark line on the rebate edge of the top one , so maybe the film is not at fault. So that leaves camera light leak, holder light leak, and processing.

In the second one, it's possible that the end of one sheet overlapped and touched the frame adjacent ? Could explain why the line is kind of not super straight. dunno but that's off the top of my head
notch codes ? I only use one film...

What about those marks in the upper left corners? I think you have a processing problem.

I was trying a new developer so I did both individually to be safe.

I think they're artefacts from the light box it's not very good and even in the corners.

No, but I think that just rules out light leak in the holders.

    Re: Strange lines on negatives

I've no idea about the first one with the dark line. The second one with the clear line might be from some residual fix in the tank lid that then washed over the next batch of film. Happened to me once with a Jobo 2830. I had processed some film and washed the tank but obviously didn't wash the cup part of the lid that the chemicals are put in. Processed some more film a day or so later and was surprised the see streaks on the film that were semi clear. Analysing it I realised that the dev, stop and fix had gone in via the lid cup, but after fix I had removed the lid and poured the hypo clear in direct and had also done the water wash direct into the tank. Clearly I didn't wash the lid thoroughly and because fix was the last step I had done there was still some there to wash over the next batch of film when I did the presoak.

what camera ? I'm also thinking holder since the artefact doesn't appear to hit the rebate. what's very curious is they're different densities.
